Christina Perri’s new material took that long to record for the reason that songs are ‘super personal’.
The A Thousand Years singer is getting ready to release her second album, Head or Heart, after an 18 month recording period. The 27-year-old said that the whole album follows an extremely private theme.
‘They are common super special,’ she told US OK! Magazine. ‘Seriously, each of them is as personal as is possible, however if I had to settle on one [a song that holds a unique place for her] I’d say Trust. It’s the very first song I wrote for Head or Heart this is the song that inspired the complete theme along with the question that I’m proposing. It seems like the first born!’ Check A Thousand Years.
In maintaining the personal a sense the album, the heavily tattooed singer is contemplating getting another inking to mark the record. But instead of designing something herself, the Jar of Hearts singer thinks she is going to get something that you of her devoted followers has established.
‘Maybe [I’ll get] one of many fan doodles that I had everyone drawing up towards the release date,’ she mused. ‘There were some seriously great head/heart illustrations. By the time this cycle has ended, I can guarantee you I will have a new challenge.’
As well as discussing her love of body art, Christina elaborated using a previous confession she loves to rock in the market to Beyonce before considered one of her shows. In fact there is certainly one song for example of Bey’s that Christina plays without fail.
